BIBS Annual Meeting

The Brown Institute at Caltech will cover hotel accommodations on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, shuttle transportation between the Langham and campus, and sponsored meals and activities.

Hotel Booking Instructions:

• Hotel accommodations will be provided at The Langham Hotel, 1401 South Oak Knoll Avenue,  Pasadena.  
• The Brown Institute will cover the cost of your room, but a credit card is required for incidentals.
• The reservation default is for (2) nights – Wed. 2/18 & Thurs. 2/19 (arriving Wednesday, departing Friday), with an option for an additional night (2/20) for those who requested an extra night stay.

Wednesday, February 18

Morning/mid-day arrivals (The Langham Hotel, Pasadena)
6:00pm - Welcome reception and informal dinner (The Langham Hotel, Pasadena)

Thursday, February 19

8:30am – 5:00pm - Welcome and research presentations (Caltech campus)
5:30pm - 8:00pm - Reception and dinner (Caltech campus)

Friday, February 20

8:30am - Noon - Research presentations
Noon - 1:00pm – Lunch & wrap up
Afternoon departures

Travel:

Active awardees can pay for their round-trip airfare and transportation to Pasadena from their Brown Institute program budgets.  Please plan to arrive Wednesday and stay through Friday lunch.  The meeting officially ends on Friday afternoon.

Spouses/partners are encouraged to attend but will pay their own air travel and non-shared transportation costs. Please confirm their attendance so we can plan accordingly. Note, there will be assigned seating at Thursday evening's dinner.

Shuttle transportation between the Langham and campus will be provided between 7:45 and 8:15 am on both Thursday and Friday.

Presentations:

Year 2 (2024), Year 4 (2022) and Year 5 (2021) Brown Institute awardees will be asked to present a 20-minute overview of their research plus a 10-minute Q&A on Thursday or Friday.  Non-presenters (Year 1 (2025) and 3 (2023)) will be asked to participate in a poster session. A schedule of presenters will be distributed closer to the meeting date.
